Printing from AccuRIP® Emerald may encounter blank pages, but when printing from other applications or using direct printing methods printing is not a problem.
Why does this happen?
Since AccuRIP Emerald primarily utilizes the printer’s BK and color channels, clogged nozzles can result in blank prints. Unlike printing directly from the Canon driver, which may compensate for minor clogs by blending inks, AccuRIP relies on a clear and unobstructed ink flow. This immediately makes any clog in the BK or color channels noticeable when printing through AccuRIP.
Here is how to resume printing properly:
- Print a Nozzle Check
- Open the printer driver utility on the computer and initiate a nozzle check.
- Alternatively, press and hold the Resume button on the printer until the white Alarm lamp flashes twice, then release it.
- The printer will produce a nozzle check printout.
- Analyze the Nozzle Check Printout
- If only the PGBK (Pigment Black) section prints and the CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) sections are missing, this indicates a clogged printhead.
Example of a poorly printed nozzle check indicating a clogged print head:
- Perform Printhead Cleaning
- In the printer driver utility, execute up to 3 Deep Cleanings or up to 5 Regular Cleanings to clear the clog.
- Important: Excessive cleaning cycles can rapidly deplete ink levels; therefore, limit the number of cleanings.
- Manually Clean the Printhead (If Necessary)
- If the clog persists after performing deep cleanings, manual cleaning of the printhead may be required.
- We recommend using our Amaze-INK Head Cleaning Solution for effective printhead maintenance.

TIP:
Be sure to have the clear gaskets installed in the Canon printhead. This will ensure proper fit of the refillable cartridges and create a better seal in the printhead. If you do not have the clear gaskets reach out to Tech Support for further information.
By following these steps, you can restore proper ink flow and resume normal printing with AccuRIP Emerald.
