Trying to use ink cartridge chips with different cartridges in different slots? Printer manufacturers have made this impossible by keying chips to specific slots, preventing easy swapping or mixing.
Why Printer Cartridge Chips/Cartridges Can’t Be Swapped
Each slot in a printer is specifically keyed to accept only its designated cartridge and chip. For example: The Photo Black (PK) slot in an EPSON T3270 will only recognize a Photo Black (PK) cartridge with the corresponding chip programmed for that slot. Because of this programming, chips from one slot cannot be used in another, as the printer will not recognize them.
