There are 3 means of connection available for most printers, however, not all are the same or have the same reliability.
The most reliable connections are hardwired such as Ethernet or USB.
USB is an easy printer connection to set up.
USB printer cables longer than 6ft (2 meters) can cause large graphics files to print oddly, have missing elements, or fail completely; always use a 6ft (2 meters) or shorter USB cable for the best, most reliable experience.
Ethernet is a fast and reliable printer connection for long-distance connections greater than 6ft up to 100ft. It’s fast, reliable, and professional. It’s the best connection.
When set up with a static IP address the printer will always be found on your network and most printer manufacturers offer easy-to-set-up utilities.
WIFI is not a reliable means of connection as data can easily be dropped/corrupted or fail to make it through the stream.
*At this time the Epson Artisan 1430 is not supported for WiFi.
