Canon Not Printing Fully Or Printing Faded Prints

If you are experiencing incomplete prints when sending files for printing, a clogged print head may be causing this issue.

To address this, use the Canon utility to perform a nozzle pattern check. If the print head is clogged, you may notice that only the PGBK section is printed; this slot is only used for “Plain Paper” settings and is not being used when printing through AccuRIP as it uses the CMYK slots of the printer.

Clean the print head using the driver utility by running up to 3 deep cleanings or 5 regular cleanings.

If all rows are still not printing fully, there might be air trapped in the cartridge leading to an ink flow restriction. To resolve this, remove the fill hole plugs from left to right for 3-5 seconds with the cartridges in the printer, and then plug them back up. Subsequently, run a nozzle check to assess if the print quality has improved.

If the issue persists, use a specialized head-cleaning solution like Amaze- Ink® to effectively clean the print head.

It is crucial to ensure that the print head is clean and functioning properly to achieve successful printing results, especially when printing on film. Regular maintenance is suggested.
