Installing Freehand Software on macOS 27

Using a Mac with an Apple silicon processor chip (non-Intel) recently upgraded to macOS 27 (Golden Gate), and seeing a message asking you to install Rosetta when installing AccuRIP® Emerald or Separation Studio® NXT?

This is normal and does not indicate an issue with the Freehand software.

Apple provides Rosetta to allow Intel-based applications to run on Apple silicon Macs. Rosetta runs automatically in the background. 

What should I do?

When you see the following message:

"To use Intel-based apps, you will need to install Rosetta."

Simply click Install.

macOS will install Rosetta automatically. You may be asked to enter your Mac's administrator username and password to complete the installation. 

No additional configuration is required. 

Freehand software will install and run normally on your Mac.
