For users transitioning from legacy versions of AccuRIP (1.03, Black Pearl, and Ruby) to AccuRIP Emerald, it’s important to understand how ink tank selection has changed, particularly for the Epson SureColor T3270 printer.
Legacy AccuRIP Ink Tank Selection
In previous versions of AccuRIP, users had the ability to select printing from the Matte Black (MK) tank on the Epson T3270. This was a specific selection option available in the software, allowing users to dictate which black ink tank was used.
Ink Selection in AccuRIP Emerald
Due to updates in hardware and technology, the Matte tank slot is no longer the favored ink tank selection for new printers as it was with legacy printers. AccuRIP Emerald offers two distinct options:
- Select Tank: When this option is chosen, users will be able to select which of the CMYK tanks to print from. When Black is selected, AccuRIP Emerald will print from the Photo Black (PK/PB) tank instead of the Matte Black (MK) tank. This is a key change from the legacy software, and users should be aware that the MK tank is no longer a selectable option in Emerald.
- Auto ABI: This setting enables printing from all available tanks based on the printer’s ABI (Automatic Black Ink) system.
