Reset Mac Print System

When a Mac (Apple) computer repeats print jobs, fails to print any job or just in general does very unexpected weird things then “reset the Mac Print System”. Apple built in this feature when the print “traffic cop” no longer manages to print files properly. Easily reset the Mac OS print system to clear all previous printer drivers and reset the Unix CUPS system (Common Unix Print Services). The steps are the same for Mountain Lion and higher OS versions.

STEPS:

  1.  Right-click any printer listed in the Mac System Preferences/Printers. Choose Reset Print System.
  2.  Restart the computer and printer.
  3.  If the Genuine manufacturer print driver has not already been added back to the System Preferences/ Printers, do that now. Send a test print from the OEM driver to ensure proper installation.
  4.  Open AccuRIP® and from the SUPPORT Menu build a new AccuRIP print driver.
  5.  From the SUPPORT Menu select Test Print. Print a file if the Test Print was successful.
