A file may print a portion of the way then stop, or prints fragmented data. If the file has a clean hard edge where it stops, that usually suggests a break in communication between the computer and printer.
This is most often associated with a USB cable greater than 6 feet long. USB printer cables should never be longer than 6 foot. USB ports do not have enough power to push large graphics files over a great distance. Do not use USB hubs or extenders to increase the length of cabling as it will introduce added printing issues.
Using a printer more than 6 feet from the computer the use of Ethernet cabling is best. If the printer itself does not have an Ethernet connection then the use of an Ethernet to USB Print Server Adapter or WiFi.
Even if you have been using a long USB cable, the cable or the USB port can become compromised or you have run into a large print file that is failing to print with the current connection configuration. Replace with a 6 foot USB cable and or use a different USB port.
