What Does PressFit Offer?
PressFit, a standout feature in Separation Studio® NXT, offers a powerful and intuitive solution for managing press space.
Working with a small manual press or a large automatic setup, PressFit lets users merge and organize color separations into a clean, manageable configuration that fits the specific press size. By right-clicking on any print station, it will show the merged colors being applied.
PressFit includes three essential windows that work together to streamline the production process: the Screen Window, Separations Window, and Proof Positive®.
Screen Window – Configure Press Setup
The Screen Window is where users configure and visualize press setups of various sizes. Whether using a small manual press or a high-capacity automatic, PressFit accommodates configurations ranging from 2 to 16 screens. This flexibility makes it simple to tailor the separation workflow to match the exact specifications of your press setup.
Separations Window – Organize and Manage Color Separations
The Separations Window is the control center for managing your color separations. It offers multiple organizational views to fit your workflow preferences:

Print Order View – Arrange colors in the order they’ll be printed.

Hue View – Group similar tones for easier visual selection (optional).

List View and Swatch View – Available in either hue or default mode.
When the Hue icon is disabled, separations are shown in the order they appear in the main Sep Studio NXT interface.
For efficient color selection:
- Click and drag to select multiple colors at once.
- Use Command (MacOS) or Control (WindowsOS) to add or remove individual separations from a selection group.
This intuitive system ensures that you can quickly organize even the most complex designs with precision.
Once finished, click Apply to save all changes and exit PressFit, or Cancel to exit without saving. Any separations that remain in the Separations Window after applying changes will still appear in the main interface. These unused colors can be turned off or deleted as needed, giving users complete control over their final color set.
