Separation Studio NXT is engineered to separate and print using RGB colors, not CMYK. This is because RGB provides a wider color gamut than CMYK and is best for printing on all color textiles, not just White.
Why RGB and Not CMYK?
Spot Process® Separation Studio is built around an RGB-based halftone separation system. This method utilizes a standard set of spectral press colors, which physically blend on-press to create thousands of shades.
Key Differences Between RGB and CMYK for Screen Printing:
- RGB is an additive light system that more naturally reflects color. great for a wide range of color garment printing.
- CMYK is a subtractive process with a smaller color range, more limited to printing to White garments.
Separation Studio NXT optimizes RGB to achieve the best press results.
Need to Work with CMYK?
If you or your client require CMYK-based printing, we recommend using Adobe Photoshop instead.
Separation Studio NXT is purpose-built for RGB-based screen printing, ensuring that your designs translate accurately from screen to press.
