Receiving an error message stating the legacy software is assigned to another computer?
Windows will sometimes get aggressive with an update that can change the computer firmware making a license server believe it is a different computer. To avoid this, turn the “Auto-Updates” off in your Windows settings.
If this is the only computer being used, then this is likely the case. It's best NOT to update any computer that is running a legacy version of software to maintain compatibility. It's even better to stay up-to-date with software keeping it compatible with all OS updates.
After a 4 year grace period ending January 2023, all support, systems, and upgrades for legacy version software ended. With the newest versions of AccuRIP and Separation Studio you will never suffer from an issue with the OS update again. You will have 24/7 admin access through a web-based control panel (Freehand License Manager) to activate and deactivate software at will even after a hardware crash.
